Citrix 4.5 Network Print Servers’ printers, not showing in all profiles

We are in the process of switching over to Presentation Server 4.5. We have noticed a few little minor issues.

Out of about 70 users, we are having three users that do not get our domain printers which are setup in Citrix as through a network printer server.

So, basically, 67 users are getting these printers just fine, and three are not. The three that are having problems, we have even tried to delete and recreate their terminal server profiles, with the same result.

Any ideas?


Kevin Isley Okay … so we have discovered that this only happens with new profiles since we have been on the new presentation servers. Is there a setting that needs to be changed for new users to get the network printers through citrix?? All users that came from Metaframe XP must already have something in their registry or profile folder that looks for the network print server printers.

HELP!??


awong505 Have you configured the session printers within a Citrix Policy in 4.5?

Kevin Isley Yes, I already told you this on the phone yesterday. When you were trying to sell me on your product.

Configuring the Session Printers fixed the problem.


awong505 Ummm…? Never spoke with you on the phone and I’m not a salesman nor do I sell products. It is interesting that what I suggested fixed your problem.

Kevin Isley I fixed the problem on the 13th, but had forgot to update the forum. Earlier on the 19th, (mid-day) I had a phone call, from a sales person who had read this post and wanted us to purchase some type of product that did Citrix printing. So, I assume(d) that person is you since no one commented about my issue until that very day and I told them what I had done to fix my issue.
