Citrix 1.x - Citrix WMI - failed to get server id
| Martin Maierhofer | Doug,
This sounds like a problem in IMA. Can you confirm that the IMA service is running and functioning normally? Are there any error messages in the event log? Can you enumerate any other Citrix WMI classes (e.g. Citrix_Server)? martin Message was edited by: martinm |
| Martin Maierhofer | Doug,
Yes, the WMI service gets all its information from IMA, and the error message and return code indicates that there is an issue retrieving any information at all from IMA, because the server that you’re running the query on isn’t known to IMA. Does the CMC, connected to that particular server, work ok? Can you run dscheck to see if there is any data store corruption? martin |
| Martin Maierhofer | Doug,
That is indeed the case — you need to be a Citrix administrator to be able to query information from IMA (this is by design, and also applies to MFCOM). There are additional security access checks on the \\root\Citrix WMI namespace, but by default these are quite lax. You should really have received a more informative error message, though. martin |
