Citrix 1.x - server down alert

Zach Esler Is there any way to change the server down alert? I have my servers reboot early saturday morning, and one takes a bit longer than others, generating an alert. Before I go crazy trying to figure out why it takes longer to reboot, can I change the delay before a server down alert is generated?

MF XP FR3, Win2k SP3.

thanks

Zach

help4ctx As no-one else has answered I will give my $0.02.

I asked Citrix a similar question as of SP1/FR1 and the answer was no, these were not configurable.

Things may have changed, but I’ve not heard that this is the case.

davidco I have confirmed this with development they are not configurable. A normal shutdown show not send any kind of an alert. Where are you getting the alert from?

The server down comes from the inability of the farm being able to talk with the ima service of the server. If the server is rebooted a normal service is stopping message should be sent and then the alert should not be sent.

If the service hangs or the server crashes then alert should be sent when the metric server does not get a response from that server.
To test this just stop the IMA service an alert should not be sent. Yes the server will show up as down in the cmc as it should.

Zach Esler here’s the message from RM

it’s a normally scheduled reboot. there are a few items of interest
1) this week I disabled the rm reboot, and pushed out a hotfix and let that reboot the server - no error
2) The server displays a service failed to start error on boot, but everything is running - I believe this is because the IMA service is taking to long to start, but not postive.
