Citrix 4.5 How to Disable Advanced Printing Features (HP H470)

Sue Stillwell Hello,

Our server is set up to use only native drivers because the Universal Printing Driver was causing a ridiculous amount of issues. Printers disappearing, printing upside down, all kinds of issues.

The native drivers all work great except for two mobile printers, a Canon, which I’m not worried about, and an HP H470. The HP H470 prints backwards/upside down because the ‘enable advanced printing feature’ box is checked in the properties on the server.

The problem is that I have unchecked this box in the properties on the client’s local desktop. I have tried removing and re-adding the printer and driver to the Citrix server, rebooting the server, and various other ways to try to get the server to recognize that we don’t want this box checked, but it automatically checks it every time the printer is auto created.

Any suggestions?? We do have all the hotfixes installed.

Thanks,
Sue

If you go to the bottom of this KB article or search for Changes to the Inheritance of Advanced Printer Properties on the page I thikn you might find a section that helps. It explains how these settings are saved and the configuration required.

You need to check your client version and the appsrv.ini if using program neighbourhood.

Hope this helps.

Sue Stillwell Thank you. I did see that article, however it pretty much says that in version 4.0 with hotfixes & later, the “enable advanced priting features” button should be inherited to the server. So if I uncheck it at the user level, its supposed to be unchecked on the server. The problem is still that its not.
