citrix4Connecting to a SQL DataStore
| Steve Beverley | I am having issues connection to my existing farm running on SQL. I am able to do a CHFARM on my non x64 servers but I’m unable to proeprly connect to the farm on tmy x64 server.
Has any one run into connection issues? Or logon issues. I am trying to log on using the database ID. |
| Guest | Mine worked just fine when I did this — although, I made a new farm and the x64 server was the first server in the farm. I too used a SQL Server user account.
Have you checked the connection through the ODBC tool? Open Data Sources (ODBC), go to File DSN, then click Add and browse to: Open MF20.dsn Then you can do the normal ODBC config stuff, including testing the connection. What I had an issue with was the Resource Manager connection. In theory, you make the System DSN called rmsummarydatabase, then tell Resource Manager which server to use and it finds it on its own. It didn’t. When I put it on a 32-bit server in the same farm it did. RF |
| Al Solorzano | When we joined the 1st x64 server to the existing farm that was all 32 bit, we had some intial issues where it seemed like it was taking forever to join the server to the farm. According to our DBA, he mentioned that it appears that after you install x64 and join the farm, it create some additional procedures in the database. We just let it keep running for almost 20 minutes before it finally finished.
You might try doing an uninstall, and then performing a reinstall to join the server from the start. Perhaps the chfarm in x64 doesn’t currently create the procedures and therefor never really joins the farm. |
