Has anyone ever managed to get folder redirection working properly for My Documents on Windows 2000 Server?

I have never been able to get it to work using Group Policy (our DCs are Windows 2003 and there seem to be some differences).

We’re now implementing Appsense Environment Manager and are running into similar problems.

My Documents sometimes doesn’t redirect at all - ie it remains C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents. Or it redirects off to the \\servername\sharename\%USERNAME% folder - that exact folder, ie it doesn’t redirect off to (for example) \\servername\sharename\user1 but creates a new folder called %USERNAME% instead.

All other folders redirect with no issues at all, eg Desktop, App Data.

I despair. We will upgrade to Server 2003 next year (or I will find a new job!), but in the meantime has anyone managed to find a way to force this to work?
