citrix4At what point will the ICA Protocol disconnect due to network congestion?
| Ed Piasecki | Somewere in the past I’ve read an article about the ICA Protocol and the speed affected by the network.
At what point will the ICA Protocol / Citrix Client disconnect from the MetaFrame box? 180ms? 200ms? I know slowness issues appear in the 120ms range. |
| Charles Stivali | I don’t know that I have ever heard that the client disconnects based on latency. In fact, I have an application I wrote to monitor latency of applications and see ranges from less than 1ms to more than 5000ms.
If you are seeing a number of dropped connections perhaps your users and your environment could benefit from SpeedScreen Latency Reduction. We have modified the defaults on one group of servers that host a globally used application. |

| Ed Piasecki | I have definitely read somewhere about when the client will notice slowness and / or disconnects. I will dig some more. |
| Justin Holland | Interesting article on a customer who experienced similar issues…
