citrix4At what point will the ICA Protocol disconnect due to network congestion?

Ed Piasecki Somewere in the past I’ve read an article about the ICA Protocol and the speed affected by the network.

At what point will the ICA Protocol / Citrix Client disconnect from the MetaFrame box?

180ms? 200ms?

I know slowness issues appear in the 120ms range.

Charles Stivali I don’t know that I have ever heard that the client disconnects based on latency. In fact, I have an application I wrote to monitor latency of applications and see ranges from less than 1ms to more than 5000ms.

If you are seeing a number of dropped connections perhaps your users and your environment could benefit from SpeedScreen Latency Reduction. We have modified the defaults on one group of servers that host a globally used application.

Ed Piasecki I have definitely read somewhere about when the client will notice slowness and / or disconnects. I will dig some more.

Justin Holland Interesting article on a customer who experienced similar issues…
