Citrix Licensing Xenserver express edition, how many cpu sockets/cores
| Samuel Dalesj%26#246; | Hi We are planning to uppgrade the hardware on our Xenserver (express edition) now then the memory limit have been removed (welcomed feature in 5.0). however I’m a little unclear on what the CPU sockets limit means, is it the number of Physical cpu’s in the computer or the amount of cores in the cpu you are allowed to use? http://www.citrix.com/English/ps2/products/subfeature.asp?contentID=1680964 Samuel |
| - Arbil - | Hi
we also plan to implement a xenserver 5. regarding the licensing of xenserver its per server no matter how many core i have in a single cpu. may question is what do you mean about “Now if your server has more then 2 CPUs in that server, you will have an issue.” what particular issue? a license violation, need to buy another license for this cpu? or it will not be detected once i install the xenserver on my machine having a 2 physical cpu? thanks a lot -Arbil- |
