Citrix Licensing This computer running Citrix Presentation Server will now stop accepting…

My License Server and Citrix farm are on the same local network. You may be on to something regarding the time. Mine started 9/24/2008. I will bring this up to support if upgrading to 11.5 doesn’t help.

I Analysed my logs of all servers, my problem also started at 24/09/2008??? Strange, isn’t it.

very strange thing really. I have deinstalled, moved the citrix Folder and C:\Programm Files and reinstalled the Citrix Licensing service (Not the hole Windows, but the Citrix Licensing Server and Service). But still no Success. The License files I downloaded always new from myCitrix (All Licenses in one file). This also didn’t helped me.

I have also opened now a citrix Call, but now they want to have a lmstat -a when the problem occurs, but this is difficult to get, because I dont’t know when the problem will occur again :-/.

What do you try now exatly? Move it to a complete other server?

now Citrix told me to update the PS to 4.5 HRP03, I have done it today… Because of this Fixes in HRP03:


Users cannot connect to servers and the following error message appears: “The system has reached its license logon limit.”
From PSE450W2K3R03145719

A console RDP session (mstsc.exe /console) allocates a license for the duration of the session and does not release the license when the session terminates.

I hope this will help.

How is your Licenseserver migration? Have you done it already?

-( HRP03 doesn’t helped me. Today I have this failure again on 2 Servers but not 2-3 Times… more then 10-20 Times with other License failures.

How is your License server upgrade?

I have a farm with 14 Servers. Last week the users called me that they cannot login, and they getting the Message:

Description:
Application popup: Citrix Client Logon Message : Citrix Presentation Server license acquisition error (500): Unable to acquire a license from (BSYSTERM09) server. Please contact your system administrator or open Event Viewer for more details.


Then I started to analysing this Message and I have seen that befor I get this Message the following message appears in eventlog of the server:

Then I started to analyse all 14 Servers and I have seen that these message appears on different times and different days sometimes on all other servers (only on 2 servers of this 14 I dont have this message).

When this message appears on one day on the regarding server I get then the message:

I don’t know why this happen. Because when the server is rebooting (this happens every day at 3 a.m.) the Message always is Contacted successfull the License server.

I have searched a lot of forums but I didn’t find something what helped me. I have checked the Server editions and the License server, all seems ok. Only on the license server I see in the log a lot of denied messages…

I dont know what to do, or what to check, because the servers are running perfekt, only sometime this message appear on one of the servers in the Farm. The License server is connected over WAN (VPN) to this farm, maybe this is a problem, but then the server should go in grace mode? But he stop immediate accepting connections… but after a few minutes maybe the 9017 appears one more time (or more times) then this message stop and the server is accepting new connections. really strange. What can I do?

I have also updated the License server to 11.5 and the Farm is running on PS 4.5 on Win 2003 R2 with Hotfix Rollup package 1.
