citrix3 Client Printing Error

Jamie Jendreas I’m using Metaframe XP 3.0, and in the past we were able to use printers using auto-created client printing. It seems that client printing has decided to not work for us anymore, when I go into the client printer config utility, and attempt to connect to a printer I get an error that says “cannot connect to printer”. We’re using the same pritners, with the same drivers as when it was working, and the printers print fine from the local WinXP desktop.
Any Suggestions?

Jamie Jendreas Thanks for the reply,
Print spooler service is running, and there is no entry in the log, and it does work through RDP. Here’s a little more clarification:

We can’t even map the printers (usually), so there aren’t any print jobs going out (hence the lack of errors in log). They won’t auto-create and if I use the client print utility, it either gives us a “cannot connect” or gives no error but doesn’t connect (depends on driver being used).

If we map the printers as a TCP/IP printer, they work, but spooling takes up to 3 minutes PER PAGE

I’ve attempted to use universal and native drivers, and have attempted to use different drivers on both the Citrix and Client side.

We’re using HP 1022 LJ Printers - I don’t think these are PCL, but they have worked in the past.

If I fiddle with the drivers, sometimes they’ll map, when a print job is sent, the Citrix queue says “Printing” and the Local (client) queue says “spooling” but never prints.
