Citrix 4.5 Print job routing = very slow (wan with Police), and TS works fine!

Cristiano Santos Hello guys!

I have this scenario:

Datacenter.: XenApp (Windows Server 2003) TS (Windows Server 2003) AD (Windows Server 2003)
Office 5…..: Computer client/IP 192.168.5.72 Printer Lan (TCP/IP Port)/IP 192.168.5.51 ICA Client PNA
Program….: Tortvs ERP

Network configuration:

XenApp Server…: IP 192.168.1.63 (Datacenter)
Computer client.: IP 192.168.5.72 (Office 5)
Printer Lan……..: IP 192.168.5.51 (Office 5)

I did published ERP Aplicantion in XenApp and created this policies:

 • Printing Policies:

Client Printers > Auto-creation = Auto-create all client printers;
Client Printers > Print job routing = Always connect indirectly as a client printer;
Drivers > Universal driver = Use universal driver only if requested driver is unavailable;

The computer client with ICA Client 10.x connect through WAN Link with 256Kbps. The Printer Lan and Computer client are in the same LAN (192.168.5.X). If the computer client create a job printing with TS this make a /-20mb of spool and lave 3 minutes to start this job, but it’s printer all job by the printer velocity. If the same computer connect in the XenApp (same application in same Datacenter that TS) the printer job print just one page and wait for 1 minute to print the next page, and again to next page, and again.

I don’t undstand waht’s happing! The same applicantion, in the same datacenter, through same link and Windows Terminal Service have less time to make the printer job!!!??? I can’t believe!

This is a picture of my client’s scenario:

PRINTER <—-> LAN <—-> COMPUTER <—-> WAN <—-> XENAPP = 1 minutes per print page
PRINTER <—-> LAN <—-> COMPUTER <—-> WAN <—-> MS TS = 3 minutes to start the print job and finished

Need my client a printer server (windows machine) to make the print routing? Are I making something wrong?
The print routing ca’nt work with a printer with TCP Port sharer?

Anyone can help me???

Thks all and sorry for my english! =)

Cristiano Santos I have one more question:

The XenApp Server have IP 192.168.1.63 and the Computer client and printer are in the 192.168.5.0/24 subnet, right? But the Server has a route with he can send information to subnet 192.168.5.0/24.

Can XenApp Server undstand with the print is accessible and send the printer job direct to the print through the WAN link?
